As of September 14, 2023, an engineer has been selected and this project is in the design phase. It is anticipated bidding will commence in 3rd quarter 2024, with construction following. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Reference Number 0000324196 The scope of this Professional Service Agreement includes the design for construction. Currently there are six (6) vertical turbine pumps of 10 million gallons per day (MGD) each, five (5) duty; one (1) stand-by, that are used to send water produced at WBWTP to the distribution system. The 54-inch pump discharge header, located inside the pump station, includes two (2) surge anticipation valves (SAV) that open during a surge event and send water back into the clearwell. The goal of the Project is to replace these valves with a hydropneumatics surge tank so that draining back to the clearwell no longer occurs, and to provide surge protection during existing and future pumping conditions whether high or low flow. Exhibit B presents the approximate proposed surge tank location. The 36-inch and 48-inch discharge headers in the yard, shown in Exhibit B, will need to be included in the design.
