The Town of Paradise invited tenders for the reconstruction of two (2) crosswalks at Karwood Drive and Topsail Road, respectively. The work generally includes the removal of existing asphalt, sidewalk, curb & gutter, and paint markings to construct a new raised crosswalk on Karwood Drive and a new pedestrian refuge island complete with all necessary components on Topsail Road. Work under this scope includes, but is not limited to, the supply and installation of new catch basin pups and leads, supply and installation of new traffic control structures and signage (including relocation of existing pole and base), replacement of asphalt, sidewalk, curb & gutter and paint markings as indicated on the project drawings to form a complete functioning traffic calming system. Re-grading of the T'Railway may be required as needed. Bidders shall make themselves aware of pre-existing site conditions. All work is to be completed in accordance with the Municipal Water, Sewer and Roads Master Specification (2023) and the Town of Paradise's Engineering Guidelines. The scope generally includes but is not limited to: o Removal of existing asphalt, curb, gutter, sidewalk and paint markings as per the supplied drawings; o Construct new raised crosswalk as per supplied drawings; o Supply and install new catch basin pups and storm leads as per supplied drawings; o Construct new pedestrian refuge island as per supplied drawings; o Supply and install new traffic control pole, base and lighting as per supplied drawings; o Relocate existing traffic control pole and base; replace existing lighting as per supplied drawings; o Supply and install two (2) pedestrian activated rapid flashing beacons and modify existing traffic controller as per supplied drawings; o Supply and install all signage as per the supplied drawings; o Replace asphalt, curb, gutter, sidewalk and paint markings as per the supplied drawings; o Regrade existing trail as needed to match new sidewalk; o The contractor is to reinstate asphalt and granular to match existing conditions. For this tender, bidders are to assume the following for reinstatement. - 2 layers of 40mm asphalt - 100mm Granular 'A' - 200mm Granular 'B' o Supply record drawings for completed crossings; o Both Karwood Drive and Topsail Road are Major Collectors.
