Renovation of a medical facility in Vancouver, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
The Children's and Women's (CW) Hospital kitchen is located within the D-wing of Shaughnessy (SHY) building. The kitchen serves the entire CW campus. The kitchen and associated equipment needs to be upgraded to allow food services to continue to provide an efficient service. The aging infrastructure need to be addressed in order to improve service efficiency and operational workflows. This CW SHY Kitchen renovation will include but it will not be limited to: 1. Replacing floor tiles, 2. Painting the walls, 3. Replacing ceiling tiles and accommodating changes according to the new exhaust hoods, 4. Upgrades to the exhaust and ventilation system for various functions, 5. Seismic restraint of racking, 6. Plumbing upgrades including installation of backflow preventers, 7. Electrical upgrades including modernizing distribution panels and infrastructure, and lighting/controls, 8. Fire alarm upgrades, 9. Upgrade the electrical panels feeding various kitchen equipment, 10. Replace the non-compliant lighting fixtures with adequate ones, 11. Replace the data outlets inside the kitchen with waterproof type ones, and 12. Provide final hook-ups for all new equipment (exhaust hoods, cooking equipment, and appliances) provided by the owner according to the equipment plan drawings.
