Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Gainesville, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
It is the intent of the City of Gainesville to obtain bid responses for pavement seal coat application, repair, and parking space striping for the employee and visitor parking at the Gainesville Police Department (West lot -see Parking Area Details). The GPD visitor and employee parking is located off NW 6th St across from the main building. The Contractor shall provide and apply three applications of coal tar pavement sealer over existing asphalt surfaces with a fourth coat applied to areas that need additional protection Site Conditions. Apply coating when pavement temperature is at least fifty-five (55) degrees F and air temperature is the same and rising. Apply coating during dry weather and when rain is not forecasted. Preparation. Spray all vegetation in cracks and at pavement edges with applicable herbicide to kill weeds and grasses prior to job start date. Clean all cracks with compressed, wire wheel routing, and hand work to ensure all loose debris is removed. Seal all cracks 3/16" or larger with Crafco PLS202 (or equivalent) which are not associated with map or alligator cracked areas. Prime all oil spots. Heat and scrape excess oil off of pavement and apply applicable oil spot primer to promote sealer adhesion. Prior to seal coating, clean all applicable asphalt surfaces using power brooms, blowers, and ensure all debris is removed from the job site. Application. Follow manufacturer's specification to allow each coat to cure between coats. Allow final coat to dry overnight under good drying conditions before allowing traffic. Application rate must be in accordance with the manufacturer's specification. Product specifications shall be submitted with the bid. Striping. All striping of lines and any other marking on pavement will follow the existing color and design scheme unless otherwise directed by GPD Management. Paint shall be applied by approved commercial striping equipment at the manufacturer's suggested application rate and ambient temperature. All paints shall meet or exceed Federal Specification TTP115E and TTP1952B. The total number of spaces between the visitor parking and employee parking is approximately 80 spaces (see Parking Area Details). Protection. All barricades will be set up prior to the commencement of work and removed from the job site after completion of the project. GPD Management will coordinate with the Contractor for clearing the parking areas for the scheduled project work. Barricades must have a lit device if left in place after dusk. Debris Removal. The contractor is responsible for removal of all debris during the project and must complete debris removal prior to end of the project. GPD is not responsible for providing a mechanism for debris disposal.
