Storm events during January 2017 caused saturation of the bluff face along Ocean Boulevard resulting in extensive erosion and damage to the existing roadway and stormwater facilities. The City was able to secure emergency relief (ER) funding for construction from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) through Caltrans Division of Local Assistance (DLA) for damages directly related to this Storm Event.
