Site work for a mixed-use development in Muscatine, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; and playground / park / athletic field.

Base Bid 1 (Feature 1): Work consists of raising and strengthening the mainstem levee for approximately 16,400 LF from STA. 170+00 (Maple Grove Road) to STA. 334+00 (Muscatine-Louisa County Line). Borrow sand for the project will be excavated from a historic stockpile area at the southeast corner of Deep Lakes County Park near 57th Street and Pettibone Ave (Approximately 54,000 CY). Sand will be hauled to the levee material staging area(s). The sand will then be graded and compacted to match drawings and specifications. Following grading operations, all disturbed areas of the site will be seeded. Scope includes post construction repair of 57th St for any damages during hauling operations for both base bids. Base Bid 2 (Feature 2): Work consists of the construction of approximately 1,100 LF hardened controlled overtopping reach and approximately 1500 LF of levee settlement repair near STA. 700+00. Any borrow sand for the project will be excavated from a historic stockpile area at the southeast corner of Deep Lakes County Park near 57th Street and Pettibone Ave (Approximately 23,000 CY). Sand will be hauled to the site and graded and compacted to match drawings and specifications. A 2,700 LF temporary haul route will be constructed to accommodate traffic to the project site from the X61 site entrance. The overtopping reach will be overlaid with 160,000 sq. ft. of specialized geosynthetic turf surface with cementitious infill . 1,250 tons of class B revetment will be placed at the downstream end of the overtopping structure, with 835 tons of class E revetment bedding stone. A 2350 LF concrete tie-in trench (approx. 2x2) will be installed along the perimeter of the Hydroturf CS application. Following grading operations, all disturbed areas of the site will be seeded. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of Muscatine Island Levee District, negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value) or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total Bid shall be submitted with each Bid.
