The County of Fairfax, Virginia, Department of Public Works and Environmental Services is soliciting engineering firms to provide geotechnical engineering and testing services Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) for Calendar Year 2024. The County intends to award an annual contract to provide services as a part ofthe overall process to prepare engineering design of capital improvement projects. Projects may include transportation design work, building site and stormwater management facilities. Services required will be geotechnical in nature and will include, but not limited to, construction testing, geotechnical investigations and testing reports. All services will be implemented on a task order (as needed) basis. Geotechnical Engineering and Testing Services: Conduct various geotechnical engineering studies and provide construction material testing services that will include, but not limited to, soil test borings, field sampling and testing, pavement design, laboratory testing and engineering analysis. Preparation of engineering reports, design and specifications, as appropriate, and provide field and office construction quality assurance and testing services for various improvements as requested. Interviews from a short-list of selected firms are projected to be held in the September 2023 timeframe While Fairfax County has established no numerical DBE participation goals, the consultant shall make good-faith efforts to use DBEs for all sub-consulting opportunities. When projects are identified that utilize federal funding, consultants shall make good-faith efforts to ensure that DBEs have the maximum practicable opportunity to compete for sub-consultant work in connection pursuant to this policy.
