The Community Betterment Organization (CBO) generously donated the former Pella Early Learning Center property to the City of Pella in 2023. This project involves renovation of the facility to accommodate additional office and meeting space. The proposed use of the property is to house the Planning and Zoning Department along with their five city boards. By utilizing this facility for Planning and Zoning boards, the Police Department would be able to use the Public Safety Complex's conference room on a more routine basis. Plans also include moving the Driver's License Station to the facility. Finally, it is important to note, this facility could be used to house city programs occurring in the art center of the Community Center while that facility is being renovated. Additionally, Community Services administrative staff could have office space in this facility during the Community Center renovation. This project is included in the city's 2025-2028 Capital Improvement Program.
