This project is included in the City of Delaware's fiscal years 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of December 4, 2023, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. A firm timeline for construction has not been established; however, funding is allotted to fiscal year 2025. A detailed scope has not yet been released. The project will maintain the structural integrity of the water tank. Water tank paint normally lasts 15- 20 years and includes the exterior and interior surfaces being sandblasted and painted. Normally the City will use an engineering firm to help with the bidding for the job and to look over the entire tank resurfacing project. This also helps the utility department provide the highest quality of finished water to the rate payers of the City of Delaware. In 2005, this water tank was designed, built, and painted prior to be placed into service in the fall of 2005.
