Saving Project...

Site work, paving and new construction of an educational facility in Columbia, Maryland. Working plans call for the construction of a 50,000-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; and educational facility.

The WDTC project is for the design and construction of a new 49,998 GSF/29,999 academic facility to be located on Parking Lot C on the HCC main campus in Columbia, MD. The project will include the redevelopment of the existing surface parking lot to construct the WDTC building, a fenced in service yard, road and walkway improvements to connect the building into the campus street and pedestrian networks, installation of stormwater management facilities, and rerouting and extension of utilities to provide service to the building. The building will be a one-story instructional facility housing a combination of offices, classrooms, specialized class and simulation laboratories and student spaces for use in supporting existing and new professional trades education and training programs. As of October 25, 2024, this project is in the design development phase. Based on the current design schedule, bidding will start around December 2024. The construction manager requires all interested subcontractors to prequalify on their website. Construction is expected to start March 2025 with completion around September 2026.
