Site work and renovation of a civil project in Somerset, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

The work on Somerset Reservoir Resiliency Improvements includes: 1. Mobilize to the project site; establish site access and staging areas; remove and store site features conflicting with construction access and proposed for resetting. 2. Install erosion and sediment control devices as required. 3. Clear, grub, and strip all vegetation to the limits of clearing. Remove root systems and stumps from the embankments. 4. Excavate and backfill embankments to the limits indicated on the Drawings. 5. Regrade the dam crest. a. Install interlocking concrete blocks along the upstream slope of the existing crest as indicated on the Drawings. b. Place, grade, and compact suitable fill material to the lines and grades shown on the Drawings. c. Install geotextile fabric in areas stabilized with riprap, bedding stone, and/or riprap armor stone. 6. Install the new low-level outlet gate and snorkel. a. Remove the temporary plate from the opening within the existing gatehouse. b. Install the new low-level outlet gate, stem, stem guides, pedestal, and operator. c. Remove the temporary plate from the headwall at the low-level outlet intake. Note that a dive crew will be required for this work. d. Install the snorkel assembly on the headwall. e. Reinstall the existing trash rack onto the snorkel outlet. 7. Reset site features removed to facilitate site access. 8. Loam and seed areas of the dam to be stabilized with vegetation. 9. Return the staging area and access roads to the pre-construction condition and demobilize from the site. 10. Complete an as-built survey, provide record drawings, and provide record specifications. The Somerset Board of Water and Sewer Commissioners is inviting bids for the Somerset Reservoir Dam Resiliency Improvements located behind the Water Treatment Plant, 3249 County St., Somerset, MA. Work consists of: Selective clearing and grubbing. Regrading the dam crest including installing interlocking concrete blocks, suitable fill, and riprap. Installing a new low-level outlet gate and snorkel. Dive crew required.
