West Neck Farm (also known as Coindre Hall) was constructed by George McKesson Brown in 1912. Acquired in 1973, it is one of two Gold Coast estates owned by the County. Resolution No. 449-1988 dedicated and incorporated the site into the Suffolk County Historic Trust. This project provides for the restoration of the estate, including the main mansion building, boathouse, historic garage, boathouse dock, and maintenance garage. The current focus of the project is the stabilization, repair, and restoration of the boathouse complex at the base of the estate's great lawn, adjacent to Huntington Bay. The boathouse complex includes the boathouse, granite seawall, and pier. The port cochere at the west entrance of the main building also needs complete restoration. As of August 20, 2024, this project is included in the Suffolk County's FY 2025-2027 CIP. Information regarding a design team and the contractor selection has not been disclosed.
