Installation Requirements
Awarded contractor is responsible for a turn-key project and is responsible for coordination of all services, labor
and material as may be required for a successful installation of the specified walk-in
cooler/freezer and related components in accordance with standard acceptable practices and
state and local codes. Installation services performed by awarded contractor will be an factory authorized
installation/service agency and shall include but not be limited to:
o Verify all final field dimensions and electrical requirements prior to ordering equipment.
o Receive the walk-in from the manufacturer, offloading, inspection of panels and all
related components and making notation of any freight damage with carrier.
o Coordinate delivery of new equipment and installation with owner.
o Provide all permits as may be required.
o Verify that all electrical circuits are suitable for proper operation of the equipment being
installed.
o Demo and remove from premises existing walk-in cooler freezer and all related
components according to all state and local codes to include removal of existing
sprinkler heads and cap until erection of new box is completed.
o Inspect existing floor pit, verify level and suitable for setting of new box. Make any
corrections as may be required for proper installation of walk-in.
o Complete installation of the new walk-in freezer box in accordance with manufacturer
recommended instructions including but not limited to all modular walk-in panels and
refrigeration systems.
o Set new condensing units in designated space on manufacturer supplied stands, run
new line sets, and insulate all refrigeration lines as required.
o Provide final electrical connections to customers' existing properly sized and located
electrical circuits as required for proper operation of all walk-in components including
but not limited to condensing units, evaporator coils and lighting circuits.
o Evaporator drain lines to be run in copper and insulated as required. Provide heat trace
as may be necessary to prevent drain line from freezing up.
o Installer to notify owner of any problems/deficiencies with any utilities if found
prior to installation of the new equipment and prior to making any final connections to
new equipment.
o All final utility connections for proper operation to owner furnished and properly sized
utilities.
o Sprinkler fitter to reinstall sprinkler heads according to all local codes after final erection
of walk-in panels and components.
o Start-up, testing and adjustment of the new walk-in freezer and refrigeration systems.
