Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Birmingham, Alabama. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; and for the renovation of a library.

As of Aug 22, 2023 the project is set to be awarded on Aug 31 meeting . The City of Mountain Brook, Alabama is hereby requesting bids for interior building repairs of the O'Neal Library. The work includes, but not limited to, replacement of sheetrock, rubber base, acoustic ceiling tile, built-in cabinets and painting of specific offices on the first and basement levels of the building damaged from a fire suppression system water leak. Exhibit C represents the unpriced scope of work prepared by the City's insurance carrier. Deviations in scope should be listed separately on the bid form to facilitate the City's request for approval from the insurance carrier. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to the City of Mountain Brook in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000.00, must accompany the bidder's bid. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract that will be supplied by the City. General Contractor's License number and type, the name of the Project and date of bid opening must be on the outside of the sealed envelope containing the bid. The City intends to award a single contract for this work to a General Contractor. The City will accept proposals only from firms and that demonstrate their experience and ability to perform the work necessary for this project. All prospective bidders must attend a mandatory pre-bid conference and walk-through of the project area Bids must be submitted on proposal form as attached hereto. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted.
