Renovation of a mixed-use development in Tampa, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.

As of July 24, 2024, the general contractor has been awarded. Most trades if not all have been awarded. Construction is anticipated to start in a month or two. JAMES A HALEY VAMC - BB-Renovate Bldg. 1 5S to Private Patient Rooms THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for costs incurred in developing information provided to the Government. The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 8 (NCO 8) is seeking capability statements specifically from Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), as well as any other small business construction contractors for the purpose of determining if adequate competition exists to set aside a requirement Renovate Bldg. 1 5S to Private Patient Rooms at the James A. Haley VA Hospital, Tampa, FL 33612, as required by the drawings and specifications included with this package. The Government reserves the right to consider a SDVOSB, VOSB, or any other small business set aside based on the responses hereto. The James A. Haley has a requirement for construction services to Renovate Bldg. 1 5S to Private Patient Rooms at the James A. Haley VA hospital. The magnitude of construction is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. This requirement may be fulfilled by awarding a stand-alone contract for the construction of this project. It will use the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code of 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction with a size standard of $45M. The applicable Limitations on Subcontracting is General construction. In the case of a contract for general construction, the SDVOSB prime contractor will not pay more than 85% of the amount paid by the government to the prime for contract performance, excluding the cost of materials, to firms that are not VET-CERT listed SDVOSBs.as set forth in 852.219-73 or VOSBs as set forth in 852.219-74. Any work that a similarly situated subcontractor further subcontracts will count towards the 85% subcontract amount that cannot be exceeded. Cost of materials are excluded and not considered to be subcontracted. As part of its market research, The Network Contracting Office (NCO8) is issuing this Sources Sought to determine if there exists an adequate number of qualified and interested Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), or any other small business construction contractors capable of performing the above work. Please submit, via email to amy.shaw3@va.gov, a capability statement and past performance information that demonstrates that your firm can perform the above scope of work. Title your email Sources Sought for 36C24823R0199, Renovate Bldg. 1 5S to Private Patient Rooms. The following information is requested and is limited to 10 pages: Company name, address, point of contact, phone number, and email address Company s SAM UEI, DUNS, and Cage Code Warranty Experience: The prime contractor shall have at least five (5) years of experience in projects that required work similar to this project. Interested businesses shall submit capability statements. Type of business (SB, SDVOSB, VOSB, etc.), provide a copy of your certification from https://veterans.certify.sba.gov Ability to perform in the state of Florida Will your business use subcontractors to accomplish most of the contract or does your firm have the capability to execute more than simple oversight and program management. Does your business have prior experience in leading construction projects for the renovation of rooms into private rooms in a large hospital. Please provide evidence. Interested parties must show both socio-economic status and adequate bonding capacity in their capability statement. The Government will use the responses to this Sources Sought to determine the appropriate set aside, i.e., SDVOSB Set Aside, VOSB Set Aside, etc., for this requirement and will be posted on SAM.Gov for 15 calendar days beginning 07/06/2023 and ending on 07/21/2023 at 4:00PM. The anticipated solicitation release date is mid-August 2023. This Sources Sought is only for the purpose of identifying potential sources. No Request for Proposal (RFP) exists at this time.
