Nguyen, alnguyen@bayareametro.gov; 415-778-6651 The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) is seeking a consultant to perform preliminary engineering and environmental studies to support project approval documents, complete final design, and provide design support during construction for the I-580/ Richmond Parkway Interchange Operational Improvements Project. The Richmond Parkway Project includes the Richmond Parkway/ Canal Boulevard/I-580 and Castro Street/I-580 Interchanges and is aimed to address traffic congestion as local and regional traffic attempt to access the Westbound I-580. A suite of operational improvements, such as improving westbound I-580 access at Castro Street, modifying the lane designation at the I-580 westbound Canal Boulevard off-ramp, signal retiming for traffic accessing I-580 westbound from northbound Castro Street, and intersection improvements near Tewksbury/Castro and E. Standard/Castro, were identified. These potential improvements are intended to improve the traffic accessing westbound I-580 in concert with the Bay Area Toll Authority (BATA)'s Richmond-San Rafael Open Road Tolling (ORT) and I-580 Westbound High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) Lane project. The selected consultant shall assist with this process.
