Renovation of a water / sewer project in Belton, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Bell County Water Control & Improvement District No. 1 (District) is soliciting Request for Bid for the removal and installation of filter media at the District's Belton water plant The District reserves the right to waive irregularities and reject any or all bids. Bell County Water Control & Improvement District No. 1 (District) is removing and replacing filter media in three (3) conventional media basins located at 5200 Waterworks Road in Belton, Texas Plant 4 was built in 2000 and is rated for 35 mgd. It has six (6) dual media filters which consist of: 24"-anthracite 12"-sand 12"-various size of supporting gravel ranging from 3/4 " to 1/16" Underdrain is Leopold System. Dimensions for each filter are 30' x 58' Remove approximately 20,880 ft3 of media from the three (3) filters. Each filter has roughly 6,960 ft3 o Ensure surface area of Leopold blocks are free from debris and/or media before installation is to begin o Removed media may be disposed at a designated location onsite. See Fig 1 o Contractor will be responsible for moving and staging media to load into filters o Contractor to furnish 11,276 ft3 of Anthracite with a size of 0.95mm-1.05mm and a Uniformity Coefficient (U.C.) of 1.7 and must meet or exceed AWWAB100 and also must be NSF/ANSI 61 certified. Filter media must be in 2,000lb - 4,000lb supersacks and each supersack must be labeled accordingly. All documents must show NSF certification o Contractor to furnish 5,638 ft3 of Sand with a Size of 0.45 - 0.55mm and a Uniformity Coefficient (U.C.) of 1.6 and must meet or exceed AWWAB100 and also must be NSF/ANSI 61 certified. Filter media must be in 2,000lb - 4,000lb supersacks and each supersack must be labeled accordingly. All documents must show NSF certification 3 o Contractor to furnish 1,740 ft3 of 3/4 " x 1/2 " supporting gravel, must meet or exceed AWWAB100 and also must be NSF/ANSI 61 certified. Filter media must be in 2,000lb - 4,000lb supersacks and each supersack must be labeled accordingly. All documents must show NSF certification o Contractor to furnish 1,740 ft3 of 1/4 " x 1/8" supporting gravel, must meet or exceed AWWAB100 and also must be NSF/ANSI 61 certified. Filter media must be in 2,000lb-4,000lb supersacks and each supersack must be labeled accordingly. All documents must show NSF certification o Contractor to furnish 870 ft3 of 1/8" x 1/16" or No.10 supporting gravel, must meet or exceed AWWAB100 and also must be NSF/ANSI 61 certified. Filter media must be in 2,000lb-4,000lb supersacks and each supersack must be labeled accordingly. All documents must show NSF certification o Contractor to furnish 870 ft3 of 1/2 " x 1/4 " supporting gravel, must meet or exceed AWWAB100 and also must be NSF/ANSI 61 certified. Filter media must be in 2,000lb-4,000lb supersacks and each supersack must be labeled accordingly. All documents must show NSF certification o Media will be packaged in 2,000lb - 4,000lb supersacks no pallets required but the Contractor is responsible for scheduling the arrival of media, unloading media from transport and the removal of media in the filters o District is scheduling the filters to be offline for the duration of the removal and installation. o Contractor must give 48-hour advanced notice to staff when water is needed to be introduced to filter(s) initially. Subsequent water or valve needs will require 3- hour advanced notice. We reserve the right to inspect each layer of media being installed. Please see Fig 2 for Media Bed Diagram that must be referenced for depth Removal, Disposal and Installation scope of work must complete within 77 calendar days from start, minus any bad weather days that cause work stoppage, or be subject to liquidated damages of $1,000/day.
