Project Description: Install silicone roof coating over existing metal roofing of Township Offices only 1.2 PROJECT INFORMATION A. Owner will receive sealed lump sum bids, for project until the bid time and date at the location given below. B. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 10 (ten) percent of the bid amount No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 (sixty) days after the opening of the bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities. C. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the work. A Performance Bond (100% of the net bid), separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to the Owner will be required of the successful Bidder. Roof Preparation o Replace metal panels that are badly rusted or damaged o Replace missing or stripped fasteners o Tighten all loose fasteners o Wire brush loose surface rust o Clean metal roof as required to remove all dirt and grime o Allow all surfaced to dry prior to coating Note: a) Roof shall be maintained in continuous watertight condition during construction. b) Grounds and walls to be protected by tarps and/or plywood c) Jobsite shall be kept clean at the end of each workday C. Flashing Details o Seal vertical lap seams with 2-4" wide RXT Fleece backed tape o Seal all horizontal lap seams by loosening screws, lifting panel and injecting RX-915 o Coat each fastener head with a dob of RX-981 o Seal metal flanges, walls and ridge with 6" wide RXT Fleece backed tape D. Application o Apply ROOF X TENDER 985 SUPER SILICONE by TRIBUILT (or approved equal) a fluid applied coating. Color to be selected by Owner. o Apply with a 3/4 " nap exterior paint roller. o Apply a uniform coat over entire surface avoiding extensive rolling o Coverage rate is 1.5 - 4 gallons per 100 square feet o Additional coats shall be applied between 4-24 hours after first coat. o Minimum 2 coats are to be applied. o Project is approximately 5000 sf o Provide for 20yr Manufacturer's warranty
