Site work and new construction of a playground / park / athletic field in Langley, British Columbia. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a playground / park / athletic field; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

The new Smith Athletic park, Youth soccer campus, located in Willoughby, BC. The project will also include work to confirm the final design of multiple roads needed to connect the site in the community, including: 208A Street from 76 Avenue to the 212th Connector, 76 Avenue from 208th Street east, and the 212th Connector from 208th to 210th Street. The initial program being reviewed is for the campus to include four artificial turf fields, including three outdoor fields of which one would be oversized to allow for rugby, and one full size soccer field (field dimensions 70m x 102m fully clear plus circulation space) enclosed in a building. Additionally, there would be supporting spaces within the facility including change rooms, training facilities, food service and public use areas that may have an area of up to 1400 sq.m. Phase 1 will include the construction of needed access roads, utilities, site preparations, three new playing fields, a dog park, and a playground. The addition of three new playing fields is needed to address the growing demand on user groups, like Langley United Soccer Association, for youth sport participation. Phase 2 of the project, which will include a fourth field and enclosed building and potentially underground parking, will be considered by Council at a future date. TIMELINE: The new Smith Athletic Park Youth Soccer Campus, located in Willoughby, received Township of Langley Council approval. Request for Expression of Interest from parties interested in the Youth Soccer Campus (located in the Smith Neighborhood) is closed; preferred proponent and schedules are unreleased.
