Market Square was constructed in 1977 with minor improvements having been completed over the years. Streets and buildings around the square have been updated but utility, sidewalk and lighting upgrades are now required. The Market Square study will be completed in FY25 and will inform Phase 1 capital investments in FY26. The intent of this study is to engage the community in a Citywide process that will allow us to better understand the vision, values, and funding priorities for Market Square through public outreach. This project will be implemented in multiple phases which are reflected in the funding requests for outyears FY28 and FY30. These phases will include streetscape improvements, pedestrian enhancements, and upgrades to water, sewer, drainage and will address citizen requests. As of October 24, 2024, this project is currently in the FY 2025-2030 CIP. Further information regarding a design firm and timeline for construction has not yet been established. Funding is allotted for FY 2026, 2028, and 2030. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
