Battelle requires 7,600 Megawatt-hour (MWh) of new, Green-e certified RECs for FY23. RECs may otherwise be known as Energy Attribute Certificates (EAC), Tradable Energy Certificates or Green Tags. Battelle will accept RECs from solar, wind, geothermal, ocean (including tidal, current, and thermal), and new hydroelectric generation at an existing hydroelectric site. The renewable source facility must have commenced operation on or after 1/1/2022 for FY23 RECs and must deliver its electrical energy into the grid in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, or Utah. The RECs must meet the criteria outlined by the U.S. Green Building Council's product certification requirements. The RECs must also be Green-e certified and proof of a current contract between the Seller and Green-e must be provided with the proposal.
