Renovation of a mixed-use development in Birmingham, Alabama. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
Contractor is to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision to Repair Switchgear as per the contract documents. The repairs are needed to restore full functionality of the main switchgear of Building 1, at the Birmingham Veterans Affairs Healthcare System (BVAHCS) facility. It will include project supervision/administration, Repairs to include * Troubleshoot and repair all control system issues within the primary switchgear and Substation 3 * Replace failed 13,200V to 208V control transformers x2 * Replace improper factory installed 5000V wiring that is carrying higher voltage than rated * Develop phasing plan to single source feeds to all substations to allow for safe diagnostics behind 13.2 bus bar in main switchgear * Assess all factory installed wiring in main switch gear to ensure conductors are of the proper size and replace any failed or undersized conductors * Furnish and install Current Transformers (CT) to enhance power metering and diagnostic capabilities on main switchgear x6 * Install Current Transformers and replace trip units at 480-volt breakers x26 * Replace seven (7) charging motors on low voltage substations * All work to occur during after-hours and on weekends The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time.
