Interpretations or clarifications deemed necessary by the Town in response to such questions will be issued in the form of written addenda, mailed to all parties recorded by the Town as having received the Bid documents. The issuance of a written addendum by the Town shall be the only official method whereby such an interpretation or clarification will be made. Concerns about the process should be directed to the Chief Procurement Officer (Town Administrator) All questions and requests for clarification shall be made at least 7 calendar days prior to the bid opening Project Requirements - Scope of Work Respondents to this bid request must be aware of these and the following qualifications and reflect them in their pricing quotations. A. General Scope of Work The work covered by these specifications consists of the furnishing of materials labor, equipment, for the installation of bituminous concrete and other asphalt products used in pavement overlays, patching, and repairs. Methods shall be as specified by the MADOT Standard Specifications for Highways and Bridges, latest edition. B. Materials and Equipment Materials and equipment shall be as specified by the MADOT Standard Specifications for Highways and Bridges, appropriate sections, latest edition. Any asphalt delivered to the spreader having a temperature lower than 250oF nor higher than 325 oF shall not be used. Contractor shall have thermometer onsite if conditions warrant testing of delivered material. Equipment used in the performance of the work required by these specifications shall be maintained in satisfactory working conditions at all times. Compaction: The initial rolling shall be done with a static steel-wheeled roller. Final rolling shall be done with a roller of the steel wheel type or pneumatic tired roller. The minimum weight if the static steel-wheel roller shall be 8 tons. In areas where the large static roller cannot be used, a smaller static roller 3 to 5 ton roller will be used such as under mailboxes, driveways, islands or tight radii along the curbing. Tack coat shall be used between pavement courses, overlay of existing or cold planed pavement. Tack Coat 1. Emulsified type, Grade RS-1, CRS-1, HSMS-1, CSS-1,1h 2. Distribution rate - 0.05 to 0.08 gallons/Square yard
