The Village of Oak Brook is soliciting proposals from consulting firms with demonstrated experience in developing and implementing a Building and Operational Master Plan for the Oak Brook Public Library. The Village reserves the right to reject any or all statements of Proposals, to waive technical or legal deficiencies, to proceed or not to proceed with any subsequent proposal process, or to negotiate, without further process, any contract as may be in the best interest of the Village. General Information The Oak Brook Public Library (OBPL), located at 600 Oak Brook Road, Oak Brook, Illinois, is a department of the Village of Oak Brook and is operated by staff reporting to the Village Manager and the Village Board of Trustees. The Village Board President appoints a sevenmember Library Commission to assist the Board in determining policy for the Library. The purposes of the Commission are to make policy recommendations to the Board of Trustees of the Village and to bring insight and expertise from the community to assist the Library in defining and meeting its goals. As with other Village services, the Library is not supported through property taxes. It is funded by the Village Board through the General Corporate Fund. The interior of the OBPL building is approximately 25,000 square feet. There is a meeting room and two quiet study rooms. The OBPL offers many adult and youth services. The OBPL's mission is to promote the development of independent, self-confident, and literate citizens through the provision of open access to cultural, recreational, intellectual, and informational resources. The Village of Oak Brook is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) to solicit proposals from interested Consulting Firms to provide professional consulting services for the OBPL Building and Operational Master Plan. The Village anticipates a single point of contact to serve as Consultant, although the consulting firms may use additional resources and personnel for specific tasks. Questions will be accepted until 12:00 p.m. CST on Thursday, July 20, 2023. All questions and responses will be compiled and submitted to all Firms electronically in one general response memorandum by Wednesday, July 26, 2023.
