Site work and renovation of a water / sewer project in Avon, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; and for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
The Town of Avon, CT invites sealed bids for the upgrade of its Route 44 sanitary sewer pump station as further described in the Specifications. This contract is subject to state contract compliance requirements, including non-discrimination statutes and set-aside requirements. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state-funded portion of the contract to be set aside for award to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services. The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals. Each Bid must be accompanied by a certified check of the bidder or a Bid bond with a surety acceptable to the Town in an amount equal to at least TEN PERCENT (10%) of the Bid amount. The Performance Security shall be equal to at least FIFTY PERCENT (50%) of the Contract price, and in a form reasonably acceptable to the Town. The Payment Bond shall be (a) in the full amount of the Contract price. An Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer. Minority/Women's Business Enterprises are encouraged to apply. Project Location: Avon, CT 2. Owner: Town of Avon Water Pollution Control Authority B. Engineer Identification: The Contract Documents were prepared for the Project by Fuss & O'Neill, Inc. 146 Hartford Road, Manchester, CT 06040. 1. Drawings are dated July 2023 2. Technical Specifications are dated July 2023 C. The Route 44 Pump Station Upgrade Project consists abandoning an existing "tin-can" style pump station, providing a pre-packaged submersible pump station inclusive of wet well, valve vault, and appurtenances, site work, fencing around the station, installation of Owner furnished emergency generator and transfer switch, electrical power, instrumentation and controls, installation of Owner furnished shed ,approximately 40 linear feet of 8-inch gravity sewer and approximately 15 linear feet of 12-inch gravity sewer, approximately 40 linear feet of 8-inch ductile iron sanitary force main, and connection to an existing 8-inch ductile iron force main. If Contractor desires to utilize steel sheeting with the installation of the pre-packaged pump station, stamped and signed design drawings and calculations by a Structural Engineer in the State of Connecticut shall be submitted for review. At least four (4) calendar days prior to Bid opening, the Town will post any addenda on the Town's website, www.avonct.gov, (under "Find It Fast"), Public Bids & RFPs. Each bidder is responsible for checking the website to determine if the Town has issued any addenda and, if so, to complete its Bid in accordance with the IFB as modified by the addenda. The appropriate Town representative listed above must receive any questions from bidders no later than seven (7) business days before the Bid opening date. That representative will confirm receipt of a bidder's questions by e-mail. No oral statement ofthe Town, including oral statements by the Town representatives listed above, shall be effective to waive, change or otherwise modify any of the provisions of this IFB, and no bidder shall rely on any alleged oral statement. Each bidder's costs incurred in developing its Bid are its sole responsibility, and the Town shall have no liability for such costs. The Town will answer all relevant written questions by issuing one or more addenda, which shall be a part ofthis IFB and the resulting Contract, containing all questions received as provided for above and decisions regarding same. Bidders are prohibited from contacting any other Town employee, officer or official concerning this IFB. A bidder's failure to comply with this requirement may result in disqualification.
