Renovation of a water / sewer project in Dubuque, Iowa. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
This project allows for the rehabilitation of four final clarifiers. The project includes blasting and painting of the feed well, scum arms and blades including supports and energy dissipating baffles; replacement of the tow-bro suction header; and rehabilitation of the tank walls of each of the clarifiers. The final clarifiers were originally constructed in 1974 and rehabilitated in 1994. Typical life expectancy of a rehabilitated clarifier is 20 years. Rehabilitation would extend the life of the clarifiers by 20 years. This project is included in the city's fy 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Program. As of July 19, 2023, further details regarding design and construction timelines have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
