Ames City Parking Lot Z 2320 Chamberlain St Ames, Iowa 50010 The City of Ames is accepting bids from qualified contractors for the installation of two (2) Level 2 Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station and related buried electrical lines and equipment for the Electric Department. Contact Bob Spatz - Carbon Day EV Charging at bobs@carbonday.com to register for the course. Contractor May Begin Work at Any Time After Receiving a Notice to Proceed From the Owner. This is Expected to Occur on or About August 15, 2023. All Work Must Be Completed by December 31, 2023. CONTRACTOR shall perform the following activities: Provide and install conduits between utility source and meter pedestal/EV charging station Provide and install an in-ground pull box (where noted on the drawings) Provide and install concrete foundation for meter pedestal/EV charging station Provide and install meter pedestal and circuit breakers Install Level 2 EV charging station (provided by OWNER) Provide and install wires between utility source and meter pedestal/EV charging station Make all wiring connections and terminations (unless noted on the drawings) Provide and install protective bollards (where noted on drawings) Remove paving (as required) Restore site (paving and ground cover) to original condition There is a chain link fence adjacent to the locations where both charging stations are to be installed. The fence at each location is owned by the City of Ames. The contractor will be permitted to "roll-back" the fencing to make room for trenching equipment during construction. The fencing shall be restored temporarily, at the end of each day, if work spans multiple days. The fencesshall be restored to its existing (or better) condition prior to completion of work at each location. These instructions are intended solely to assist bidders in responding to this City of Ames Invitation to Bid. All contractors must acknowledge receipt of this addendum for the solicitation referenced above by marking the checkbox in the "Attributes" tab in the AmesBids solicitation. No bidder may withdraw their bid for at least sixty (60) days after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids. The City of Ames reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to make such awards as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
