A. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: 1. This project involves the replacement via upsizing of approximately 1,229 L.F of 10-inch diameter gravity sewer pipe and five precast concrete manholes. B. The Contractor shall adhere to all requirements of the Chester County Department of Community Development Bid Specifications and Chester County Contract for Services in Appendices A and B. 1. A pre-construction meeting with all Contractors, Sub-Contractors, Engineer, Borough, and the Chester County Department of Community Development, as specified in Appendix B Chester County Contract for Services Section IV Paragraph 10 Pre-construction Meeting is required. 2. The Contractor shall furnish and install one sign in the vicinity of the project in a location designated by the Engineer prior to the start of any construction activities. The sign shall be 4 X 6 minimum size and shall contain the text specified in Appendix B Chester County Contract for Services Section IV Paragraph 13 Public Notice. The Contractor shall maintain the sign in good condition to the satisfaction of the Engineer and County for the duration of the contract. This project involves the replacement via upsizing of approximately 1,229 L.F of 10-inch diameter gravity sewer pipe and five precast concrete manholes. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond payable to the Owner in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid or bids. Only bonds from companies licensed to do business in the State where the Owner is located will be accepted and the bond shall so state same. Bids must be submitted unconditionally. No bidder may withdraw bid within sixty (60) days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality, or to reject any or all bids.
