Renovation of a fire / police facility in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Working plans call for the renovation of a 30,389-square-foot fire / police facility.
**As of September 18, 2023 project either November or December.** This project is a MGL Ch.149A Construction Management at Risk Project. It is a Historic renovation of the 30,389 square foot Cambridge Fire Department Headquarters. This project will involve phased construction as well as meeting an extremely high sustainability goal. A high performance envelope, geothermal wells, photovoltaic solar system & structural upgrades are planned throughout. The Project will require prequalification of General Contractors. General Contractors will be prequalified to submit general bids under a separate RFQ and prequalification process Anticipated Notice To Proceed: October 2023 Anticipated Construction Schedule: 30 months Bonding Capacity: Interested Subcontractors must provide a commitment letter (from a surety company licensed to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and whose name appears on the United States Treasury Department Circular 570) for payment and performance bonds in an amount equal to or greater than one hundred ten percent (110%) of the estimated construction cost for the subtrade that the Subcontractor is seeking prequalification as set forth in Section I. The Awarding Authority reserves the right to cancel this procurement at any time if it is in its the best interest to do so.
