This Invitation to Tender (the RFT) is an invitation by the Regional Municipality of Niagara (Niagara Region) to prospective bidders to submit bids for Supply, Delivery, and Installation of Resident Furnishings for Two (2) Niagara Region Long-Term Care (LTC) Home Redevelopments, as further described in Section A of the RFT Particulars (Appendix B) (the Deliverables). Niagara Region Seniors Services operates eight (8) Long Term Care Homes (LTCHs) and a range of Community Programs that provide wellness, outreach, and residential services to seniors across Niagara. The Seniors Services division supports over four thousand five hundred (4500) seniors across Niagara each year. The Niagara Region is currently redeveloping three (3) of its LTCHs: Linhaven in St. Catharines, Gilmore Lodge in Fort Erie, and Upper Canada Lodge located in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The existing beds at both Gilmore Lodge and Upper Canada Lodge are being consolidated into one (1) facility and will be located in Fort Erie as the new Gilmore Lodge. The two (2) redevelopment projects are expected to be complete with occupancy and residents moving in early 2024. At the completion of the project, the Niagara Region Seniors Services will operate seven (7) LTCHs with a total occupancy of nine hundred and ninety-six (996) beds and the addition of two (2) Wellness Centers to support a range of Community Programs on site. The two (2) Niagara Region LTC Homes under construction are: a. Linhaven - a new two hundred and fifty-six (256) bed LTC Home and Wellness Centre is currently being redeveloped on the existing Linhaven site located at 403 Ontario Street in St. Catharines; and b. Gilmore Lodge - a new one hundred and sixty (160) bed LTC Home and Wellness Centre is currently being built on a greyfield site located at 200 Garrison Road in Fort Erie.
