Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Key Biscayne, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

This is the solicitation for the Bridge Repair Project at the Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory (AOML). The contractor shall provide all effort, work, planning, labor, materials, equipment, permits, transportation and performance of all operations necessary for the Bridge Repair Project at the Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory. Lower Bridge (Ground Level) Repairs Contractor shall provide all effort, work, planning, labor, materials, equipment, permits, transportation and performance of all operations necessary to perform the work described in accordance with the Statement of Work and project specifications. FOB : Destination Period of Performance: 09/15/2023 to 09/14/2024 Upper Bridge (First Floor) Repairs Contractor shall provide all effort, work, planning, labor, materials, equipment, permits, transportation and performance of all operations necessary to perform the work described in accordance with the Statement of Work and project specifications. FOB : Destination Period of Performance: 09/15/2023 to 09/14/2024 The Offeror may submit any questions with regard to this report by email to NDAA1290Cert@state.gov. To the extent feasible, the Department of State will respond to such email inquiries within 3 business days. Question Deadline 08/29/2023 This solicitation is for repairs to a bridge used for both walking and hand cards to the building's freight elevator at the Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory (AOML) located at 4301 Rickenbacker Causeway, Miami, FL 33149 on the Virginia Key. These bridges have excessive spalling and ~4 ft section of concrete has fallen off from the underside of the bridge. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision and documentation necessary to perform the duties required to repair the bridge within this statement of work. Any travel and/or accommodations necessary to subm Provide the following engineering services for the lower bridge with the option to complete upper bridge repair. Provide a qualified team of engineers and concrete labors (defined as The Team) to effectively repair the bridges. Base Contract: Lower bridge (ground level) 1. GPR scanning of the bridge deck to locate existing reinforcing in the structural slab and a corrosion potential study to determine the overall extent of rebar damage. 2. Testing of concrete core samples for possible chloride contamination. 3. Review if any waterproofing membrane is present. 4. Chip and remove around spalled area to sound concrete on walking surface of lower bridge and underneath lower bridge. See below for further info. 5. Anti-corrosion coatings on exposed rebar to rust proof all exposed rebars. 6. Install and splice rebars. 7. Install Embedded Galvanic Anodes to exposed rebars. This unique Anode will protect rebars getting rusted in futures. 8. Apply bonding agent to all repaired concrete. 9. Patch all repair areas with high strength concrete or similar product. Slope concrete flooring for proper drainage out the side wall drains. 10. Apply a Urethane deck coating installation from 3ft before the bridge to elevator. Option: Upper bridge (1 st floor) 11. Chip and remove topping slab and tile overburden from walkway and stairs. 12. Chip and remove all metal edges on stairs 13. Chip and remove around spalled area to sound concrete on walking surface 14. Rust proof all exposed rebars. 15. Install and splice rebars as need for repair. 16. Install four side drains evenly spaced on bridge that allow for rain water to evacuate the walking area into pond below. (must not evacuate to lower bridge. 17. Apply bonding agent to all repaired concrete. 18. Install topping slab with high strength concrete. Slope concrete flooring for proper drainage out the side wall drains. 19. Install/Rebuild stairs with no metal edge with high strength concrete 20. Install all new joint sealant between main supports and bridge 21. Apply a Urethane deck coating to entire upper level and stairs. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
