5.1 PERMITS AND LICENSES The Contractor shall procure all permits and licenses, pay all charges and fees and give all notices necessary and incidental to the due and lawful prosecution of Work. 5.2 CONSTRUCTION MEETINGS 5.2.1 PRE-CONSTRUCTION MEETING Before work commences on the project, the Engineer will schedule and hold a Preconstruction Meeting. It will be the Contractors duty to invite the Contractors competent superintendent (who shall be familiar with all phases) and the supervisors for any and all subcontractors shall attend this meeting. The Engineer will invite the Public Works Department Utilities Division, Fire and Police Departments, and others deemed necessary will also be invited to attend. A schedule of construction activities shall be discussed at this meeting and shall be agreed upon by all involved. The Contractor shall not hold the City responsible for any added expenses due to alteration of the Contractors proposed schedules to meet the needs of the City or the utilities. If the Engineer deems it necessary, there will also be a preconstruction conference with each subcontractor at least two working days prior to the start of work by the subcontractor. Normally included in the agenda items for the Preconstruction Meeting are the following subjects: The following are approximate major quantities: ITEM DESCRIPTION QTY UNIT PREFABRICATED MODULAR BLOCK WALL 1800 SF COMMON EXCAVATION 500 CY AGGREGATE BACKFILL 350 TON CLEAR / GRUB TREE 4 EA ORGANIC TOPSOIL BORROW / TURF ESTABLISHMENT 350 SY The bid bonds must be payable to the City of Edina in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount of bid, to be forfeited as liquidated damages in the event that the bid is accepted and the bidder shall fail to promptly enter into a written contract and furnish the required bond. The City Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any portion thereof.
