Demolition, site work and renovation of a civil project in Runnells, Iowa. Completed plans call for the demolition of a water / sewer project; for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

Retrofitting and updating an existing wastewater treatment facility, including but not limited to: demolition of existing infrastructure, conversion of the existing oxidation ditch to an activated sludge treatment basin and replacement of existing clarifier equipment, conversion of the existing polishing pond into a covered aerated lagoon cell, construction of new UV disinfection structure, installation of new exterior blowers for the upgraded polishing pond and activated sludge treatment unit, new controls in the existing control building, and installation of various manholes, piping, valves, fittings and appurtenances. The start date for the work will be ten (10) days after the Notice to Proceed and the Work will be substantially completed on or before April 15, 2025. Should the Contractor fail to complete the work in this timeframe, liquidated damages of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) per calendar day will be assessed to the work not completed within the designated contract term. The work shall be fully completed and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 15.06 of the General Conditions on or before June 30, 2025. Should the Contractor fail to complete the work in this timeframe, liquidated damages of Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($250.00) per calendar day will be assessed to the work not completed within the designated contract term. Parts of the Work shall be substantially completed on or before the Milestone #1: UV Disinfection System substantial completion date of November 30, 2024. Should the contractor fail to complete the work in this timeframe, liquidated damages of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) per calendar day will be assessed to the work not completed within the designated contract term. The successful bidder will be required to furnish bonds in an amount equal to one-hundred percent (100 percent) of the contract price,said bondsto be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City Council and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment for all materials and labor and protect and save harmless the City from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of Contractor The City of Runnells, Iowa, reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities.
