Demolition, site work, paving, new construction and renovation of a mixed-use development in Austin, Texas. Design plans call for the renovation of a 120-unit multi-residential development; 48,000-square-foot clubhouse / community center; 15,000-square-foot retail development; 347-space parking garage; and for paving for a parking garage.
The collaborative’s $112 million, nearly 300,000-square-foot redevelopment of Blocks 16 and 18 would include neighborhood priorities such as 138 residences with a mix of studio to three-bedroom apartments and townhomes in Block 16. Most of the units would be reserved for tenants earning 50% of the local median income or less; 27,000 square feet of cultural venues, including performance and studio space, and 13,000 square feet of commercial space, including a grocery store. The four-story Block 18 would feature eateries, a central public courtyard with a performance stage and housing for Huston-Tillotson University students. As of July 26, 2024, the project is currently under evaluation stage. Further details regarding firm construction and completion timelines have not been released. The construction for the sites is expected to begin in 2025 with a grand opening for Phase 1 in 2027 and Phase II complete in 2029.
