Demolition, site work and new construction of an educational facility in Sainte-Therese, Quebec. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a educational facility; for the construction of a two-story above grade, 23-room educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
The project involves the demolition, reconstruction and expansion of Terre-Soleil school in Sainte-Thérèse, on the territory of the Mille-Îles school service centre. In order to reduce the space deficit recognized by the Ministry, four additional classes are planned. Thus, the capacity of the school will be twenty-three classes. TIMELINE: The project is preliminary and is included in the list of major projects of the Quebec Treasury Board Secretariat as a project under study. In late 2023, the owner held a public consultation relating to the development of the project, incorporating into the scope of work the corrections proposed during the previous consultations. According to the owner's opinion, the process of demolition/reconstruction of the school may move forward as following citizen consultations it was decided to rebuildi the school in the adjoining park. Construction is not anticipated before 2026.
