The City of High Shoals is seeking a professional housing rehabilitation specialist for its 2021 Neighborhood Revitalization Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. The City has been awarded $9,500,000 in CDBG funds from the NC Division of Community Investment and Assistance and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development to rehabilitate approximately six housing units. Only experienced CDBG Housing Inspectors or firms may participate in this program. Experienced housing specialist professionals must be familiar with all NC residential building codes and local permit requirements. All units must meet state and federal standards for lead based paint abatement upon completion. Preference will be given to licensed general contractors and those with documented experience with NC Department of Commerce rehabilitation standards and historic preservation projects Women-owned, minority-owned, and small businesses are encouraged to submit proposals
