Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Byron Center, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
Project will follow MDOT Standard Specifications for Construction and approved Special Provision specs that apply. Parking lot or trail pavement where milling and removal of asphalt is required, contractor may need to supplement gravel base with 21AA or 22AA gravel base to bring lot to original grade conditions and shall be included in overall project scope. Refer to the north enlargement sheet, a portion of the paved pathway, as indicated on the plans, will be raised 12" at its lowest point and made even back to the points indicated on the plan. All edges in contact with turf to be restored with 4" topsoil and blended to existing grade to ensure positive drainage, as needed. Re-compact all base material to 95% density. PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BOND : Each contract over $50,000 must be accompanied by a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each payable to the Owner (County of Kent) and each in the amount of 100% of the contract price with a corporate surety approved by the funding agency, for the faithful performance of the contract.
