Renovation of an educational facility in Wahiawa, Hawaii. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Requisition Nbr: R2024000002 Reference Number: 214-019 Document Nbr: D2024000002 Furnish materials, labor, and equipment necessary to install ceiling fans in Cafeteria at Leilehua High School. 1.Ceiling Fans a. Contractor shall install 18 ceiling fans and provide 4 spare fans. A total of 22 fans. b. Ceiling fans shall be 3 blade 52" Haiku fans manufactured by Big Ass Fans, or approved equal. c. Fans shall be installed as low as possible above the height of the existing light fixtures, but in no case shall a fan be mounted with the bottom of its blades lower than 7'6" above the finished floor surface. In addition, fans shall be installed so that fan blades are no closer than 18 inches away from adjacent walls and finishes. Fans shall be assembled and mounted per manufacturer's instructions and recommendation, using only parts approved by the fan manufacturer. d. All fans shall be installed with safety cables either as provided by the fan manufacturer as a part of the fan assembly or as shown in the attached "Ceiling Fan Retrofit Safety Cable" document. e. Power for new fans will be taken from the existing cafeteria electrical panel, and wired to three "on and off" switches. The "on and off" switches shall have sufficient amperage to supply power to two rows of fans per switch. Switches shall be surface mounted in a box next to or near the existing light switches. f. All new wiring shall be in either EMT or pre-finished metal wire molding. All couplings, boxes and accessories shall be manufactured specifically for the conduit system used. 2.Painting. a. All new electrical conduits and boxes (including prefinished items) shall be primed and painted to match the surrounding area. b. In addition, the contractor shall patch and touch up paint all areas damaged by his work. 3.Testing and Balancing a. At the end of the job, all fans shall be tested at all speeds in both directions to insure proper operation. b. At the end of the job all fans shall be balanced to eliminate any wobble or swaying. c. All fans shall be set to medium speed. 4.Warranties a. At the end of the job the contractor shall submit to the project coordinator the following as part of their close-out documents to receive final payment. i. A written guaranty against all defects in materials, workmanship and installation. He shall certify that he will correct any defects other than ordinary wear or improper use that may develop within one year from the date of project acceptance at no cost to the State. This shall include any rebalancing necessary. ii. Manufacturer's standard warranty. All work shall be done per manufacturer's specifications and recommendations, and shall be performed to industry standards. Contractor must follow all current local city & county codes, electrical codes and building codes. Construction for this project is tentatively scheduled to commence upon award of the purchase order and be completed by January 3, 2024. The contractor may choose to work after hours and on weekends. For after hour and weekend work, contractor must follow state rules for overtime work and pay all workers accordingly. In addition, the contractor is responsible to pay the overtime wages for a school official to open up and lock up the buildings and campus. To be eligible to submit a bid, the bidder must possess a valid State of Hawaii contractor's license classification C-13. Bidder shall attend a mandatory pre-bid conference that will be held at the date, time and location indicated in this Solicitation and prior to the close of bids. Bids will not be accepted from any Bidder that does not attend the mandatory pre-bid conference. Bidders may be required to sign-in at the start and at the conclusion of the conference to ensure full participation. No other pre-bid conference will be scheduled or allowed. b. Bidder is advised to register to attend the mandatory pre-bid conference through this Solicitation. c. Bidder is advised to print out a copy of this Solicitation, including project scope of work documents, for its use at the pre-bid conference. No copies of the project scope of work documents will be available at the pre-bid conference d. Questions, regarding the scope of work or project schedule, may arise at the pre-bid conference, from project site visit(s), or at any time prior to the close of bids. Bidders shall direct questions or clarification requests to the Project Coordinator by the questions deadline indicated in this Solicitation. Clarifications and/or answers to questions will be distributed by amendments to this Solicitation. Questions: Vendors must ask questions regarding project to the contact person by 4.30pm 8.1.2023. Answers to questions will be addressed by 4.30pm 8.2.2023. Pursuant to HRS 103D-305(b), Procurements greater than $50,000 for construction under subsection (a) shall require security by performance and payment bonds, pursuant to section 103D-324, delivered to the procurement officer, that are: (1) In a form prescribed by the rules of the policy board; (2) Executed by a surety company authorized to do business in this State; and (3) In an amount equal to one hundred percent of the price specified in the contract, or shall otherwise be secured by a performance bond in a manner satisfactory to the procurement officer. Liquidated Damages: In accordance with the Interim General Conditions, Article 7 Prosecution and Progress, Section 7.26 Failure to Complete the Work On Time, upon failure to complete the work or any portion of the work within the time or times fixed in the contract or extension thereof, the Contractor shall pay liquidated damages to the State, in the amount of $100, per calendar day of delay for contracts less than $50,000, or in the amount of $200, per calendar day of delay for contracts $50,000 or higher, unless otherwise noted.
