Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Los Angeles, sealed bids for a lump sum contract are invited for the following work: SMUMC MNP AIR HANDLING UNIT 8 REPLACEMENT Project Number 945908.01 DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Replacement of existing Air Handler Unit 8 (AHU) located on the roof of the Merle Norman Pavilion at Santa Monica Medical Center. The scope of work includes connection of existing AHU 7 and AHU 6A to areas serviced by AHU 8, demolition of AHU 8, provision of HVAC controls, variable frequency drives, ductwork, piping, valves, anchoring, and hoisting equipment; testing and balancing; and repairs to building and roof finished impacted by the work. Work shall also include connecting existing AHU 6A to areas services by existing AHU 4 and demolition and removal of AHU 4. Contractor shall obtain crane permit from the City of Santa Monica. All crane work shall be performed on Sat from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and shall include all traffic control around hospital streets. A crane work and traffic control plan shall be approved by University at least seven days prior to the start of any crane related work. In addition, the University is committed to promoting and increasing participation of small business enterprises (SBEs) and disabled veteran business enterprises (DVBEs) relating to all goods and services covered under the awarded agreement, subject to any and all applicable obligations under state and federal law, and University policies. The awarded contractor shall make best efforts to provide qualified SBEs and DVBEs with the maximum opportunity to participate. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
