The buildout of the 15th floor of the Orange County Courthouse in downtown Orlando, Florida is the conversion of approximately 18,000 SF of existing shell space into new courtrooms and support space for the Ninth Judicial Circuit. The scope features four, new jury capable courtrooms. Two of the courtrooms are large courtrooms with a full-sized jury box and direct access to detainee delivery. The two additional courtrooms are standard courtrooms with a reduced jury box and adjacent holding for detainee delivery. Each courtroom set is supported by a dedicated jury deliberation room located immediately behind the courtrooms. At the center of the floor plan, public waiting areas, restroom cores, and small meeting rooms are clustered to support court floor operations. The main public elevator core is bound by the ring of public circulation and waiting that connects all publicly accessed functions on the floor.
