Bidders are directed to not contact other MTS staff or Board Members in connection with this Solicitation. Failure to follow this instruction may render Bids non-responsive. There is no longer a need for the large capacity underground storage tanks (USTs) that are currently in place at IAD. These USTs serve both the service lane and the RAM building. The tanks are both costly to maintain, and far too large for the current and future needs of the facility. The intent of this project is to completely remove the (8) existing USTs, backfill and pave excavation with asphalt, construct 2 new secondary containment systems, provide and install new custom above ground storage tanks (ASTs) with all associated hardware, plumbing and pumps necessary to make them a functional part of the existing service fluid dispersal system, provide and install temporary 330 gallon IBC totes with all associated hardware, plumbing and pumps necessary to make them a functional part of the existing service fluid dispersal system to serve as a temporary system while waiting on fabrication and delivery of the ASTs, and finally to provide a fully approved and permitted package for the new construction and UST removals. Contractor will also be responsible for all necessary reporting and coordination with appropriate authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ) associated with removal and closures of the USTs.
