Demolition, site work, remodeling, renovation and addition to a military facility in Indian Head, Maryland. Completed plans call for the addition of a military facility.
The main objective is to remove the existing pavement, cutting the soil to achieve a level surface on the loading pit, and regrading the surrounding area to coordinate the start of construction activities with the Government safe transportation of explosives process in the building. Regrades shall include the following: Disturb the geosynthetic landfill cap at Installation Restoration Site 42. Alterations to the geosynthetic cap will be replaced-in-kind not to change the existing function. Retain two walls constructed on the sides of the loading pit. Test soils around the landfill for hazardous materials and disposed of properly and incidental related work. Remove or alter existing work in such a manner as to prevent injury or damage to any portions of the existing remains. Repair or replace portions of existing have been altered during construction operations to match existing or adjoining work, as approved by the Contracting Officer. Completion of operations, existing work must be in a condition equal to or better than that which existed before new work started.
