Demolition, site work and new construction of a transportation facility in Sacramento, California. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a transportation facility.
Plans call for a new 192 ft. Air Traffic Control Tower to be located on the north side of the airport. Per the county, as of January 16, 2026, this is an FAA project and not a Sacramento County project. The county states that the FAA will determine a project deliver method and the procurement process to bring a design team on board. Sacramento County has no involvement in the contracting process for the design team or the project delivery method. This project is to receive federal funding. A firm timeline for construction has not been determined however the project is anticipated to be completed by 2026.
