North Middle School Building Addition and Renovations Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after opening of bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities. Bid security can be in the form of a bid bond, Cashier's Check or Certified Check. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. A Performance Bond, a separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner will be required of the successful Bidders. The Board of Education, Fort Zumwalt School District reserves the right to accept or reject any or all offers and to waive any technicalities therein. Bidders are advised that the work is to commence on or about September 5, 2023, with substantial completion of the different parts of the project not later than the following: 1.Completion of Phase 1 Library / Admin / Classroom Addition December 22, 2024 2.Completion of Phase 3 Cafeteria Addition August 1, 2025. Liquidated damages will be assessed at the rate of Five Hundred Dollars ($300) per calendar day (per location) for each day past the date established for substantial completion that substantial completion has not been achieved, as determined by the Owner and Architect. Neither the Owner nor the Architect will be responsible for additional costs claimed due to delays beyond their control.
