As of February 28th, 2024, The bids received exceeded the funding then available. The Owner has applied for additional funding that it believes will enable the project to be built with some design revisions to reduce costs. The Owner understands the outcome of the additional funding application will be announced April 16 with the funding "project start date" of May 15, 2024. The building and the sitework will, this time, be bid as one project. The building, septic system, and well will have minor revisions; the sitework grading and graveling will have substantial revisions. The Owner has decided to not initiate design professionals' efforts to make design revisions and prepare documents for bid until the funding "project start date", May 15. It is estimated that the project will be advertised about July 15, 2024, with bids due about August 6, 2024. This project is a 4,165 gsf pre-engineered enclosed metal building plus a 1,451 gsf covered drive-through. The building will include wood framed office partitions, 2 overhead doors, 4 hollow metal personnel doors, one truck dock, and will be fully air conditioned. Construction in this contract is limited to the building, earthwork extending ten feet from the building, and minor concrete slabs on the site. Payment of the contract amount will be made on a periodic basis on applications for payment from the Contractor and approved by the Architect based on work accomplished. Further details regarding payment provisions of the Contract are contained in following sections of Project Manual. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond in an amount not less than 5% of the amount bid. The Successful Bidder, if awarded the Contract, will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Amount. The surety company on the contract Performance Bond shall be a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Georgia. Said bond and surety shall be subject to approval by the attorney for the Owner. Proof of General Liability Insurance and Workman's Compensation Insurance will be required with the Jasper County Board of Commissioners listed as an additional insured. All contractors are hereby notified that they must have proper license as required under the state laws governing their respective trades. Attorneys-in-fact who sign Bid Bonds must file with the bond a certified and effectively dated copy of their Power of Attorney. This shall be attached to the Bid Bond. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities, to waive minor irregularities, and to accept the lowest or best bid.
