The project consists of planing 36,000 square yards of bituminous pavement, paving 5,100 tons of HMA Cl 1/2", PG 58V-22, removing HMA and replacing the area with 350 cubic yards of cement concrete pavement including dowels and tie bars, reconstructing 16 curb ramps to ADA standards, reconstructing 1 driveways, installing 81 vehicle detection loops, 120 square yards of sidewalk repairs, temporary pavement markings, 21,000 feet of permanent channelization, and other work, all in accordance with the Contract Plans, Kent Special Provisions, and WSDOT Standard Specifications. The Engineer's estimated range for this project is approximately $2,200,000-2,500,000. The DBE goal for this project is 16%. Apprentice Utilization Requirements are mandatory for all public works estimated to cost one million dollars or more, in which case no less than 15% of the labor hours must be performed by apprentices. The City of Kent reserves the right to reject any and all bids on any or all schedules or alternates or to waive any informalities in the bidding and shall determine which bid or bidders is the most responsive, satisfactory and responsible bidder and shall be the sole judge thereof. Note: The award of the contract will not occur until the City of Kent has reviewed all bids for responsiveness and responsibility determinations and the Kent City Council has formally awarded the contract. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the day of bid opening.
