Saving Project...

Site work and new construction of a service station / car wash facility in Virginia City, Nevada. Completed plans call for the construction of a service station / car wash facility; and for site work for a service station / car wash facility.

Contract Cost Range: R24 ($3,850,000.01 to $4,600,000) County(s): Storey Enterprise Goal: 5 % Location: Virginia City Maintenance Station New truck wash building, new salt/sand storage building, new retaining wall, relocation of sander racks and underground utilities, sitework/drainage/paving, fire hydrant routing and installation NV DOT - Virginia City Maintenance Station Salt/Sand and Truck Wash Buildings *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Job no. 9828.002 UMMARY OF THE WORK: An aerial rendering of the proposed work was provided and reviewed in general detail. The new truck wash building and concrete drive pad is to be situated over the current footprint of the sander racks (which are to be relocated to the northwest in alignment with the new retaining wall). An underground precast interceptor and manhole have been specified as part of the solids management system for the treatment of used water at the truck wash. New utility tie-ins and layout were covered. Mention was made that the existing fill stand is to be removed. The salt/sand storage building is to be a three-sided structure with a roof, concrete floor, and concrete drive pad. Both new buildings are to be constructed of concrete slabs and stem walls, with the pre-engineered metal building enclosures designed, presented for approval by the EOR, and submitted to the AHJs as deferred submittals. The mechanical wash system is also a deferred submittal to be similarly handled. Remaining stockpiles of salt and sand will be relocated by NDOT. The new cast-in-place retaining wall is not to replace the existing mega-block retaining wall; rather it will be offset in front of the existing wall and backfilled according to the construction documents. The existing propane tank and pad will be relocated to the NW corner of the site in alignment with the new wall location. In this same area, the existing light pole at that corner will be removed, preserved, and reinstalled in its new location. All associated underground utilities will be relocated in accordance with the instructions in the plans. Coordination with NV Energy will be required to upgrade the existing transformer in accordance with the details of the NVE Line Extension Agreement and Sheet E1 in the construction documents. An additional feature to the project is locating a fire hydrant near the brine tanks and routing its associated piping and features from a hot tap with the main line at the street. Ensure coordination with traffic control and any permanent encroachment permits required of the work.
