The site generally contains an abandoned grain elevator facility with grain elevator building, unloading pit, storage tanks, storage building, and foundations. The contractor shall be responsible for hiring an Indiana Licensed Asbestos Inspector to conduct an asbestos inspection of the facilities to be demolished. Any required asbestos abatement as a result of the inspection will be addressed via change order. The Contractor shall demolish and dispose of the existing building(s). Contractor shall take precautions as shown on the plans and specifications to protect the adjacent buildings, roads, sidewalks, etc. Dust control shall be accomplished using continuous wetting as described in the specifications. All demolition debris shall be removed from the site and disposed of in accordance with the specifications, as well as all state and federal regulations. The foundations and slabs shall be removed to at least 24i below grade, with any voids backfilled with granular material as shown on the plans. Any utilities encountered below grade during demolition activities shall be capped at the most exterior point of the excavation for demolition
