Renovation of a stadium in Grambling, Louisiana. Working plans call for the renovation of a stadium.

Stadium Support - Exterior Insulated Finish System Reapirs QUESTIONS / REQUESTS FOR CLARIFICATION All questions and requests for clarification shall be submitted in writing to the GSU purchasing office at least seven (7) days prior to the bid date. If necessary, GSU will issue an addendum to provide answers and clarifications. PROJECT SUMMARY The Stadium Support Facility (SSF) on the campus of Grambling State University was constructed in the late 1990's. The cladding of the 2nd floor of the facility exterior was constructed with a DRYVIT Exterior Insulated Finish System (EIFS). The facility has experienced extensive water intrusion related to flashing and roof leaks that appears to have affected the appearance and integrity of the EIFS Cladding. Description of Project: CLEANING, REPAIRING, NEW LAMINA & REFINISHING DRYVIT (EIFS) CLADDING. SCOPE The Scope of Work covered by this requisition is to: o Inspect and observe the EIFS at the second-floor level. o Soft power wash the existing EIFS surface. o Make spot repairs to the existing EIFS cladding. o Apply a new reinforced lamina to all existing EIFS cladding. o Apply a new acrylic finish coat to the new reinforced lamina. o Prepare sealant joints and replace sealant at adjacent materials. The Project also includes the following: o Scaffolding requirements including protection of existing lower roof surfaces. o Protection of existing high roof flashing and roofing. o Protection of existing windows. o Work area protection to the public. o Clean-up and trash removal of all left-over materials. CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS Contractors bidding on this Project will be required to provide the following information: o Approved DRYVIT Applicator. o Minimum five (5) years' experience applying DRYVIT EIFS systems. o Ability to comply with State of Louisiana Insurance Requirements per attachment to this Request for Proposal. o Surety Bond acceptable to the State of Louisiana will be required. PROJECT REQUIRMENTS All EIFS materials to be used will be manufactured or approved by DRYVIT Systems, Inc. SUBMITTALS REQUIRED A. Material and Equipment Submittals: Submit the following: 1. Product Data: Submit manufacturer's product data and installation instructions. 2. Samples: Submit two 12" x 12" samples illustrating color coating over finish texture and color selected. B. Quality Assurance Submittals: Submit the following: 1. Manufacturer's Certificate: Indicating that applicator has been factory trained and approved, and possesses a current certificate of Listing by Dryvit Systems, Inc. QUALIFICATIONS A. Installer: Company specializing in EIFS installation, repair, color coating restoration and sealant repair/replacement with minimum five years documented experience, factory trained by manufacturer, and Dryvit Listed. B. Provide evidence of previously performed successful work of similar scope and complexity. DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING A. Deliver, store and protect products in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. B. Deliver products to site in manufacturer's original, unopened containers. Inspect for damage. C. Store materials in cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, and protected from the elements. Do not store at less than 40 deg. F. ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS A. Comply with exterior insulation and finish system manufacturer's requirements for temperatures and environmental conditions before during and after application. 1. The ambient air temperature shall be minimum 40 deg. F and rising at the time of installation. Maintain minimum 40 deg. F temperature for 24 hours following installation. WARRANTY A. EIFS System Restoration Warranty: Provide minimum ten (10) year limited warranty covering EIFS repair, skim and re-texturing and color coating materials proven to be defective within the warranty period. Warranty shall include repair, recoating, and replacement materials. PRODUCTS A. Insulation: ASTM C578, Type 1 expanded polystyrene, minimum 1.0 p.c.f. nominal density. Provide insulation board as a component of exterior insulation and finish system. 1. Thickness: As required to tightly fit into repair/replacement area and match adjacent surface thickness. 2. All gaps greater than 1/16" must be filled with EPS insulation slivers. B. Standard and Detail Reinforcing Fabric: Specially woven and treated for use in base coat layers. 1. Dryvit "Reinforcing Mesh". 2. Balanced, open weave, glass fiber fabric. Min. 4.3 oz per sq. yard. C. Stress Crack Patching Compound: A high performance, flexible, elastomeric patching compound. 1. "ElastoPatch" Flexible Patching Compound as manufactured by DAP 2. For preparing sur surface cracks prior to application of textured finish or architectural coating. Available in smooth and textured grade as appropriate. D. Leveling Base Coat: Factory mixed water based acrylic non-cementitious material. 1. Dryvit "NCB" base coat. 2. For leveling/re-skimming existing textured finish surfaces during repair and remediation as preparation for the application of new textured finish and associated Color Primer. "NCB" Base Coat to be used in application of new reinforced lamina to cover all existing EIFS surfaces. E. Color Primer: Factory mixed acrylic polymer primer for preparing all surfaces for application of all textured acrylic finish or color coating. 1. Dryvit "Color Prime". 2. For preparing existing textured finish surfaces over EIFS for application of acrylic textured finish. 3. Coordinate Color Primer color to selected acrylic textured finish. F. Finish/Texture: Factory mixed, 100 percent acrylic resin, integrally colored textured finish. 1. Dryvit "DPR" Textured Finish. 2. For application of new acrylic textured finish over prepared and primed new EIFS reinforced base coat. 3. Color / Texture: Owner to select texture and colors from DRYVIT standard "DPR" textured finish products. G. Joint Sealant: Joint Sealant materials, primers and accessories shall be as manufactured by Tremco Commercial Sealants and Waterproofing. 1. Application: Prepare surfaces to receive sealants and apply joint sealant, primers and backing material in strict accordance with current published guidelines, data sheets and application instructions by Tremco Commercial Sealants and Waterproofing. PROJECT LOCATION Washington Johnson Radio Tower Each Bidder is solely responsible for a prudent and complete personal inspection, examination and assessment of the facilities and any other existing condition, factor, or item that may affect or impact the performance of service described and required by the Contractual Requirements.
