Renovation of a water / sewer project in Toronto, Ontario. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Upgrade to the Island Water Treatment Plant, for replacement of four (4) existing raw water pumps and all associated work; Replacement of one (1) existing raw water pump with Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) and all associated works. Replacement of three (3) existing traveling screens and all associated work; Assessment and feasibility of installation a second VFD (or combined VFD for 2 pumps) in lieu of one (1) of the existing fixed speed pumps within the existing space. TIMELINE: A Request For Proposals from engineering services was awarded late 2023 for completion of Detail design and site services during construction and post-construction. Detailed design underway. Funding is included in the 2023 Approved Capital Budget and 2024-2032 Approved Capital Plan for Toronto Water. Tender is expected spring 2025. Construction start is expected Q4 2025 for completion Q3 2027.
